Welcome to BARBIE!

BARBIE – Bristol Association of Restaurants, Bars and Independent Establishments – was set up in January 2017 and we now have over 7,800 members in our Facebook group and over 350 official venue members at 1st January 2020. It’s been set up to give independent businesses a collective voice with the council, purchasing power as a group and networking events for the industry.
The group is free to join however venue memberships are available to give you access to our events, recruitment posting and purchasing group. Our main partners for 2020 continue to be A. Do you need a Temporary Events Notice for The Rugby World Cup 2019?

The Rugby World Cup is taking place this year in Japan, running from 20 September through until 2nd November 2019 and will of course present a great opportunity for businesses to boost their trade at the tale end of the summer.

Given the time difference, and with many of the games kicking off in the earlier part of the morning, you will require a temporary event notice (TEN) to enable you to sell alcohol for the start of some of the home nations games.

The home nation’s matches kick off times are as follows (hours are in local time):
